Microsoft Advertising: Account Takeover (External)

Instructions listed below are to initiate an account or manager account takeover for Microsoft Advertising. You can forward this instruction to the new agency who’ll be taking over account(s) from IPG.

 

Prerequisites

  • Manager or account number(s) you wish to handover (usually begins with “B”, “F”, or “X”).
  • New agency/client must possess admin credentials
  • New agency/client must have a SAP ID procured with Microsoft

 

  1. Log in to Microsoft Advertising and navigate to your highest Manager account view
  2. Click Account summary (left navigation panel)
  3. Click Requests (top navigation panel)
  4. Click Link to accounts (blue button)
  5. Select Link to one or multiple Microsoft Advertising accounts
    1. Select Link to a Microsoft Advertiser manager account and all its accounts if the manager account contains the client’s accounts only and no other client accounts.  To be determined by an IPG team or agency admin

 

  1. Enter Account Numbers, one for each line
  2. Click Next
  3. Uncheck Immediately under Start date for future takeover date
  4. Under Who pays, select I will take over billing for the account(s)

  1. Choose How you pay.  If monthly (invoice), select your established SAP ID under What you pay with
  2. As an optional step, click + Create an insertion order
    1. Set your Start date
    2. Set your End date
    3. Set your Budget
    4. Enter Purchase order and/or Order name details, if applicable
    5. Click Save
  3. Review your work and click Send request
  4. IPG agency admin will receive an email from Microsoft and review/approve the request
